The Parker Collection of Contemporary Archaeology

The Parker Collection of Contemporary Archaeology is a fictional museum environment. The work uses multiple elements of sculpture, display and performance to highlight the effect that plastic waste has on our earth. I adopt the persona of Dr Laura Parker, a fictional historian who has collected and curated the collection of fossils. Parker will host a series of tours around the space to a small audience, and will explain the sculptures as real artefacts. By creating a realistic educational environment for these fictional fossils, the issues that plastic waste has on our environment become part of our history and future.
